When First Street’ management team asked us to conduct essential remedial work on their Manchester property, we proved that over 40 years of experience can make a complex project look simple.
Here’s how we did it.
Planning
Firstly, the sites city centre location demanded significant pre-planning work in order to minimise any impact on the surrounding hotels, retail units, accommodation and a nearby Grade II listed building.
1
Inspection
Next, a rigorous internal and external building survey uncovered ACM cladding, defective fire and cavity barriers and interior support systems that needed to be resolved as part of the project.
2
Testing
Our bespoke façade wall build up was tested to BS 8414 and achieved a BR135 certification.
3
Specification
A detailed solution was delivered to deliver all the required safety improvements, whilst fully respecting the building’s aesthetics. For our in-house design team to do this, they created the distinct appearance using class A2 P.P.C aluminium rainscreen panels.
4
Implementation
As most of the recladding work required access onto private balconies and through residents’ apartments, the entire project was carefully co-ordinated to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.
5
Compliance
At every stage we worked closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations, and recorded all work undertaken as proof that proper procedures were followed throughout.
